What can we help you with?
Q.
What is a pallet?
A.
A pallet is an industry standard base which enables consignments of goods to be transported safely. Usually made from wood and measuring 1.0m x 1.2m, they enable the consignment of goods to be mechanically lifted safely by a fork lift truck (or similar) to be loaded onto a vehicle or stored.
Because of the use of forklifts, the gap in the pallet to accept the forks must have a minimum height clearance of 100mm – ideally the pallet should have 4-way entry (i.e. be capable of being lifted from any side).
The pallet must be in good condition and of sufficient strength to adequately support the goods during transit.
Pallets are re-usable provided they remain in good condition.
